Job Title: Delivery Driver
Department: Transport
Location: Service Centre
Reports To: Driver Team Manager
Salary: £34,045.44 pa
Hours: 48 per week
Days: Monday–Saturday
Job Purpose
To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.
Key Accountabilities
- To maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
- To perform a daily vehicle safety check (lights, brakes, coolant, etc.) and ensure roadworthiness.
- To report faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
- To maintain the internal and external condition and cleanliness of the vehicle.
- To ensure sufficient quantities of fuel for the day’s work.
- To maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
- To check all orders on dropsheets and ensure orders are loaded on the vehicle.
- To collect goods returned for credit, mail, delivery bins and return them to the branch as instructed.
- To handle damages/breakages promptly with due regard to special procedures for HazChems.
- To maintain a smart appearance and good customer relations.
- To undertake other duties including warehouse tasks as defined by Management.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle
- For insurance purposes, drivers must be over 21
- We assess license points; this may affect shortlist decisions
- Existing employees must update fleet services with changes to licence status
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Excellent customer care
- Intermediate numeracy and literacy
Desirable
- Previous multi-drop delivery driving experience
- Route planning experience

- Constant interaction with external customers
- Regular liaison with other drivers and transport team

- Monitor vehicle condition and report damages or faults
