Ensure the highest standards of stock integrity and storage conditions at the CLC, oversee stock and returns functions, optimise inventory management within a highly automated environment, ensure compliance with standard operating procedures, lead a team to achieve specific KPIs, maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsible for the Inventory function within the CLC, ensuring efficient and accurate stock control operations, implementing processes to support automated systems, managing the Returns function, processing returns timely, handling stock recalls and damages.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Stock Control
    • Take departmental responsibility within the daily operation, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of stock counts, expiring checks, creation of Inter‑Warehouse Transfers (IWTs), reserve checks, damages, quarantine management, and stock variation investigations.
    • Ensure accuracy in all areas of responsibility to maintain high levels of stock accuracy.
    • Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse environment.
    • Address and resolve any stock‑related issues or challenges that may occur.
    • Work cross‑functionally with logistics, inbound and outbound management, and other departments to ensure seamless operations and resolve issues quickly.
    • Conduct regular stock counts, identify discrepancies, and generate reports on turnover, ageing, and other metrics.
    • Ensure the reconciliation of all paperwork regarding goods inwards deliveries, supplier invoices, supplier credit claims, and maintenance of the Bought Ledger.
    • Provide prompt feedback to customer‑related stock queries.
  • Returns
    • Take responsibility for the returns process, including crediting customers where required.
    • Ensure returns are placed back to pick locations (if fit) within stipulated time frames.
    • Prevent falsified products from re‑entering the system.
    • Ensure recalled returns are processed in a manner that does not put patients at risk.
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, motivate and supervise to support the development of a multi‑skilled stock team and foster a positive and safe work culture.
    • Onboard and train new team members while providing development opportunities to enhance skills and improve performance.
    • Support the stock team members with direction, development, coaching and guidance in line with our Guiding Principles, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and scheduling.
    • Conduct performance reviews and provide timely feedback to team members.
