This role is in support of Cencora\’s wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. We have a 12 month fixed term contract at Alliance Healthcare UK\’s new, next-generation Central Logistics Centre (CLC) in Birmingham. You will play a pivotal role in the launch of this world-class facility designed with advanced automation and cutting-edge robotics to redefine how Alliance Healthcare manages and delivers medical, health and beauty products to our customers across the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate HR and payroll activities with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage and maintain data within Workday and oversee the Central Logistics Centre, Service Centre or CDC Time and Attendance function through ProMark.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing; maintain records in HR and Time & Attendance systems; provide guidance to on-site management on HR policies and procedures; advise on escalation processes when necessary.
  • Support team members and external stakeholders to ensure smooth warehouse and transport operations, adhering to regulatory requirements and safety policies.
  • Time and Attendance Management
  • Monitor and control people leader approvals for overtime and absence
  • Input annual leave and absence into the Time & Attendance system once approved by management
  • Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Manage onboarding for new hires: preparing paperwork, obtaining references, ensuring smooth integration and positive member experience
  • Calculate and control final payments for leavers
  • Payroll Processing and Accuracy
  • Process data changes in Workday and ProMark; complete payroll paperwork
  • Verify payroll runs, amend as needed within deadlines; liaise with Central Payroll
  • Identify payroll errors and escalate as required
  • Data Security and Compliance
  • Secure filing of team member information with strict access control
  • Respond to data requests; meet SLAs per ServiceNow guidelines
  • Train and maintain coverage for a backup HR & Payroll Coordinator; support DSARs and audits
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Produce weekly Service Centre Labour Cost Report and distribute to managers; prepare weekly transmission data and maintain SOP documentation
  • Generate payroll reports weekly and monthly
  • Employee Relations and Policy Guidance
  • Act as first point of contact for team members and provide ER guidance

Weekly hours: 37.5, Monday to Friday with hybrid working; office presence required at least 3 times per week. Salary: £26,000 – £29,000 per annum.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience Required

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills for sensitive employee conversations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in varying warehouse temperatures.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics; collaborate across departments.
  • Knowledge of payroll terminology.

Essential Requirements

  • Strong technical aptitude with HRIS systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication; telephone technique.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented and able to solve problems, including ambiguity.
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task; flexible hours including shifts.
  • Strong organisational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

Desirable Requirements

  • Payroll and employment relations procedures; Health & Safety and security procedures
  • HR knowledge; familiarity with ProMark, Workday, Service Now
