Work Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Summary of Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-focused Transport Administration Clerk to join a busy transport operation in Coatbridge. The successful candidate will provide essential administrative support to ensure the efficient day-to-day running of transport activities, maintaining accurate records and supporting drivers, planners and customers.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process transport and delivery documentation
- Update internal systems with vehicle, driver and delivery information
- Monitor and maintain transport records and compliance paperwork
- Liaise with drivers regarding routes, schedules and delivery updates
- Handle customer enquiries and provide timely updates on deliveries
- Produce reports and maintain spreadsheets as required
- Support the transport team with general administrative duties
- Ensure all records are maintained in line with company procedures.
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous administrative experience, ideally within a transport or logistics environment
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Good communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Accurate data entry and record-keeping skills
- Proactive and reliable approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous experience within transport, logistics or distribution
