• Job Purpose

To ensure the speedy, efficient and accurate delivery of assembled product and invoices to the customer within the corporate guidelines.

• Key Accountabilities
• Maintain a safe and competent standard of driving, observing speed limits and other traffic signs and giving due regard to other road users.
• Perform a daily check to ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition including a check of the lights, brakes, coolant, etc.
• Report any faults, breakdowns, accidents or delays.
• Maintain the internal and external condition of the vehicle together with the cleanliness of the vehicle.
• Ensure sufficient quantities of fuel have been taken for the day’s work.
• Maintain the security of the vehicle and its contents at all times.
• Check all orders shown on the dropsheets and ensure all orders are loaded on the vehicle.
• Collect goods returned for credit, mail, cheques or delivery bins and ensure safe return to the branch at all times.
• Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Handle damages/breakages promptly and correctly with due regard to special procedures for Haz Chems.
• Maintain a smart appearance at all times.
• Help maintain good customer relations.
• Be involved in other duties as may be defined from time to time by Management.
• Meet all Health & Safety requirements.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• A full driving licence relevant to the vehicle being driven.
• Drivers must be over 21 years of age for insurance purposes.
• Existing employees must update fleet services with any changes to their licence status such as points on the licence or driving bans.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer care.
• Intermediate numeracy and literacy.

Desirable

• Previous experience of multi‑drop delivery driving.
• Route planning experience.
• Manual Handling

It should be noted that manual handling tasks such as lifting and bending are "essential requirements" of this role.
