**Job Purpose:**The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager plays a key role in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment and is responsible for implementing and monitoring the organisation’s safety standards. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this includes supporting site management teams in meeting these standards, delivering training to both management and team members, and ensuring ongoing compliance with safety regulations. The role is critical in promoting a culture of safety, reducing risks, and maintaining high levels of health and safety performance across all operations.## Principal Accountabilities:**Safety and Compliance Management*** Apply the requirements of all statutory safety, fire, and environmental regulations within the area of responsibility through the operational management team. Knowledge of BREEAM accreditation would be an advantage.* Oversee the risk management strategy within the area of responsibility, providing advice and support to improve performance. In line with our aspiration to have zero accidents.* Ensure legislative compliance is adhered to at the design and implementation stages of projects by working collaboratively and proactively with project teams.* Working with the Senior Team to create a world class safety culture.**Inspection and Monitoring*** Periodically inspect all areas to observe whether safe working practices are effective, and that the workplace remains safe. Review any areas identified as needing improvement for delivery completion.* Monitor the standards required to maintain RTITB accreditation and work with operational managers to improve performance.* Ensure the standards that are laid out in our digital safety manual are adhered to at all times.**Safety Organisation and Procedures*** Create, where necessary, and assist with the preparation and revision of the safety organisation, arrangements, and procedures, and monitor their effectiveness.* Collate, monitor, and report safety performance data, providing comments, advice, and recommendations to support improvements.**Incident Investigation and Reporting*** Ensure that accidents and Dangerous Occurrences (DOs) are investigated adequately by operational managers. Act as a critical friend to ensure facts are established, root causes are identified, and suitable actions are defined to prevent reoccurrence.* Develop and nurture a class-leading safety culture through regular communications and the development and execution of action plans in response to the weekly, monthly, and annual safety checks.**Training and Development*** Deliver manual handling training and assessments in the workplace.* Deliver all necessary training that is required, ensuring safety passports at all levels are current and up to date.* Attend monthly Health & Safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of EHS practices.* Uphold and champion partnership ways of working with Safety Representatives and Managers, taking accountability for building relationships with external partners as well.**Reporting and Documentation*** Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to quality activities and compliance.* Report on quality metrics and escalate issues as needed to ensure prompt resolution.**Additional Information:*** Some UK travel required, with overnight stays and attendance at meetings or conventions outside of normal business hours.* All people leader roles within the Central Logistics Centre will need to be “on call” for emergency orders and alarm call outs.* All people leader roles within the Central Logistics Centre will need to participate a weekend working rota.* We offer a competitive salary, generous bonus scheme, pension contributions, car allowance , 25 days holiday increasing with service, private health cover and the opportunity to make a real difference.This role is in support of Cencora\’s wholesale distribution services in Europe operating through our Alliance Healthcare business. **Position Summary:** This is a truly exciting opportunity to be part of Alliance Healthcare UK\’s new, next-generation Central Logistics Centre (CLC).
