This role supports Alcura, a Cencora business providing pharmaceutical and patient support services across Europe. We are recruiting for a qualified Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our Homecare Pharmacy team in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a structured, highly supportive environment where your focus will be on accuracy, safety and operational efficiency, rather than direct patient-facing activity. You will play a key role in delivering an organised and accurate dispensing service, supporting patient care and ensuring prescriptions are checked in line with regulatory standards. This role offers a strong work-life balance, with no weekend or bank holiday working. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of an Accuracy Checking Technician in line with GPhC standards under the direction of the Responsible Pharmacist
  • Complete final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions to ensure patient safety
  • Support the coordination and organisation of workflow within the dispensary and prescription processing teams
  • Take responsibility for low and mid-tech prescription processes and associated queries
  • Investigate and resolve pharmacy-related queries, communicating professionally with patients, customers and colleagues
  • Support the training and development of pharmacy team members where required
  • Assist with the implementation of corrective and preventative actions to maintain safety standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes to enhance efficiency and service delivery
  • Support the Pharmacy Management Team with investigations relating to complaints and incidents (CAPA)
  • Provide drug and technical information to colleagues and healthcare professionals where appropriate
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures and legal requirements
  • Ensure the security of personnel, premises and stock at all times
  • Maintain GPhC registration and complete ongoing CPD and relevant training.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician
  • Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) qualification
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven record of accuracy
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good IT and systems literacy
  • Customer-focused approach

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a range of pharmacy settings
  • Understanding of Homecare Pharmacy services
