Job Details: Locations: Hinckley & Birmingham. Hours: 39 per week. Full‑time: 5 days out of 7. Night shift: 22:00–08:00. Induction and training at Hinckley and Gravelly Park Birmingham. Own transport essential. Rate of pay: £17.42 per hour.
Job Purpose
You will be responsible for processing the receipt and storage of products in correct conditions, picking, packing, and preparing goods for transport according to SOPs, and controlling goods inwards and outwards using automated systems.
Key Accountabilities
- Decanting and sorting of third‑party work
- Replenishing stock
- Core shift cover of the Knapp and Manhattan warehouse management system
- Providing excellent customer service and identifying process improvement opportunities
- Maintaining accurate inventory and performing regular checks
- Identifying operational issues and collaborating on solutions
- Promoting a safe working environment and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Developing self and others through training and skill enhancement
Order Fulfilment
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift
- Picking, packing and shipping orders using automated systems and forklifts
- Conducting inventory checks and ensuring accurate stock levels in warehouse management software
- Checking for damaged or missing items and sorting stock for correct storage space
- Rotating stock according to expiry dates (FEFO)
- Recording stock in the warehouse management system
- Palletising goods for safe transportation
- Achieving productivity targets and KPIs as instructed
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in a warehouse, distribution, fulfillment or logistics environment
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures, including cold and freezer environments
- Ability to work at height and for extended periods while standing and walking
- Ability to lift and move materials as needed
- Familiarity with desk‑top computers, PCs, handheld devices and material handling equipment
- Flexible working hours, including shifts as required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
- Strong initiative and decision‑making skills
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities
