Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Head of Finance located in Birmingham. You will be responsible for ensuring the business meets its financial requirements, running a small team with a number of reporting divisions.
Qualifications
- Lead and develop the finance team
- Own monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and board reporting
- Oversee statutory accounts, audits, tax, VAT, and regulatory reporting
- Maintain strong financial controls, processes, and risk management
- Cashflow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury oversight
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term financial planning
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders on performance and growth
- Assist with group structuring, intercompany accounting, and consolidation
- Support systems improvement, automation, and data quality initiatives
Essential
- ACA / ACCA / CIMA fully qualified
- Proven experience in similar size or larger organisations
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP; IFRS a bonus)
- Experience managing and developing a finance team
- Solid understanding of cashflow, controls, and audit processes
- High level of Excel and financial systems competence
Highly Desirable
- Experience in healthcare, insurance, financial services, or other regulated sectors
- Exposure to fast-growth, PE-backed, or entrepreneurial businesses
- Group consolidation and intercompany accounting experience
- Systems implementation or finance transformation exposure
