The Vacancy
Job Purpose:
This is a key position, responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations. You will be the first point of contact for service and maintenance at your assigned sites.
Your duties include maintaining and repairing refrigeration equipment in customer locations and assisting with HVAC systems containing refrigeration circuits. The engineering team provides 24-hour service coverage throughout the year, including participating in standby rota procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Prioritize maintenance and repair work to meet timescales and response times.
- Identify faults and advise the Line Manager on replacements.
- Complete PPM schedules and necessary paperwork accurately.
- Ensure all technical and compliance documentation is up to date.
- Participate in out-of-hours standby rota and communicate cover requirements.
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and codes of practice.
- Order and fit parts as per company procedures.
- Notify the helpdesk after completing tasks.
- Report repair and maintenance issues affecting store operations to GSMs and build good relationships.
- Respond promptly to service requests and carry out necessary repairs.
- Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required.
- Complete work to high standards, efficiently and safely, complying with health and safety policies.
- Complete tasks within designated timeframes to satisfaction.
- Maintain proficiency in communication, report writing, and recording procedures.
- Attend training to keep skills current with technical developments.
- Complete mandatory online training modules.
- Adhere to health and safety legislation and policies.
- Work with colleagues to maintain quality standards.
- Represent the company professionally and foster good relationships with colleagues.
- Follow additional instructions from the City Management Team.

- Time Served Apprenticeship
- NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Qualification
- Approved Training Program
- Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certificate
- Skill Card
- Knowledge of refrigeration, electrical, air conditioning, and mechanical systems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work at heights
- Competent in using access equipment
- Valid full driving license
- Availability for out-of-hours work
- GCSEs or equivalent
- Knowledge of future legislation (e.g., BS7671, BSEN 378)
