Alleyn's School are seeking a full-time, permanent Teacher of History from Thursday 3 September 2026 to join our professional, lively and forward-thinking department. An earlier start date could also be considered.
While we are primarily looking for a History specialist, the ability to teach A Level Politics is advantageous if not essential. This post could suit either an experienced teacher, someone early in their career (e.g. an ECT) or possibly an aspiring teacher wanting to enter the profession (we have a full training and induction programme in place).
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and well qualified, with a real love for History and Politics and for learning as well as an ability to convey this to and motivate pupils and staff alike. Having a natural empathy and pastoral instinct is vital, as is being able to work as part of a strong team.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss an application, you are very welcome to contact the HR Department. Interviews are planned for Friday 12 December.
All staff enjoy access to superb facilities and resources, as well as a variety of great benefits which are detailed in our Working at Alleyn’s brochure. Please note that suitable candidates may be interviewed before the closing date, and we reserve the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.
The School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Alleyn’s is an Equal Opportunities employer. Alleyn’s welcomes applications from all applicants who meet the requirements for the position, however we are especially keen to receive applications from those in minority groups for which the School is currently underrepresented. We celebrate diversity and thrive on the benefits it brings.
