Job Description
Purpose: Lead, plan and execute key strategic initiatives to operationalize and maintain high-performance of the Regional PV model. Represents Regional PV input in Global PV operational initiatives and is accountable for successful deployment across Regional PV teams. Reports directly to Senior Director, International Safety Operations and Capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Leads implementation of the Regional PV operating model and monitors performance to drive operational excellence.
- Maintains the Regional PV operating model playbook and makes updates to further clarify interactions and decisions in partnership with stakeholder groups.
- Accountable for gathering metrics relevant to monitoring the health of the operating model.
- Drives consistency, agility, continuous improvement and flexibility in the day-to-day implementation of the model.
- Manages day-to-day business operations for the Regional PV model including budgeting, resourcing, compliance and performance metrics, governance, strategic planning and business reviews.
- Prepares content for Global Patient Safety (GPS) operational and compliance review governance meetings.
- Collaborates with Literature and Vendor Management Team (LVM), Business Operations and the financial planning processes (e.g. forecasting, resourcing and LRP).
- Develops and implements operational oversight tools and mechanisms within the Regional PV model in partnership with the Business Process Owners.
- Analyzes and proactively addresses trends in operational and compliance metrics, audit and inspection observations, insights from site visits and feedback from Global PV teams.
- Prepares presentations to share trend insights with key leaders.
- Partners with Regional PV Leads to implement operational improvement initiatives to maintain stability and health of Affiliate PV systems.
- Leads regular operational review meetings with Regional PV leaders to review metrics, facilitate information and best practice sharing, identify operational challenges within the model and align on improvement initiatives.
- Leads initiatives to improve operations of the Regional PV model.
- Builds a strong sense of community across Regional PV leaders.
- Facilitates the integration of regional input in global initiatives and acts as the Regional PV representative on Global PV initiatives that have a cross-regional impact.
- Serves as a transformation champion, across Regional PV teams, in the implementation of global PV operational initiatives.
- Accountable for the timely and successful implementation of global PV initiatives across the Regional PV model.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of global PV processes and systems.
- May be required to be an SME, within the Regional Model, for assigned PV processes and be the go-to leader for routine process-related guidance.
- Develops the Affiliate Safety Representative (ASR) and Medical Director technical PV learning strategy and curriculum, in partnership with Regional PV Leads, Office of the QPPV and Area PV Product Leads.
- Works with subject matter advisors to create content.
- Drives consistent implementation of the learning strategy through the Regional PV Leads, measures impact and implements continuous improvement actions.
- Leads Regional PV transformation initiatives to align with structural changes to the Commercial or Medical operating models at the affiliate or regional levels (e.g. consolidation of affiliates).
- Partners with Literature and Vendor Management team to co-lead new outsourcing initiatives for affiliate PV operations work.
- Manages operations of the International PV ecosystem including planning, agendas, content and facilitation of governance meetings.
- Maintains collaboration sites and other communication mechanisms.
- Designs and implements townhalls, summits and community initiatives that strengthens connections across all members of the Regional PV model, Office of the QPPV, Area PV Product Leads, Affiliate Safety Representatives and their teams and key stakeholders across the International PV ecosystem.
- Actively promotes a one team mindset.
- Partners with GPS International Strategy and Sites Lead for international cultural activities.
- Leads the design and deployment of information requests (e.g. surveys) to ASRs and their teams.
- Deploys surveys and conducts focus groups across the Regional PV model as well as with ASRs and Medical Directors to assess strength of partnership and areas for improvement.
- Facilitates strong collaborative relationships between Regional PV leaders and Global PV teams.
- Leads strategic initiatives to advance ISSO priorities and goals.
Qualifications:
- Advanced business degree or scientific degree (e.g. PhD, PharmD, MD) and experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing business strategies internationally.
- Demonstrated understanding of the complexities and success of working in the global highly matrix environment.
- Strategic and analytical mindset.
- Experience in implementing and delivering transformation programs.
- Proven leadership skills to lead and influence cross-functional matrix teams.
- Strong effective communicator and ability to influence across the enterprise ability to partner and build strong relationships and role model leadership behaviours.
- Ability to work with a global mindset to deliver on business priorities and objectives.
- Commitment to building and developing team members and delivering effective coaching and feedback.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
