The Allendale Road Surgery is a well-established, high performing NHS practice serving a diverse community of around 4,800 patients. We are a friendly, supportive teaching practice with a strong multi-disciplinary team and a passion for delivering excellent, compassionate care. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed part-time Salaried GP to join our dedicated clinical team for 4 to 5 sessions per week. You will be supported by an experienced group of GPs, pharmacists, advanced nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacy technicians, HCAs and administrative staff who work closely together to deliver excellent care to our patient population.

Main duties of the job:

  • Telephone, E-consults, and Face to Face consultations
  • Referring patients to other organisations where clinically indicated
  • Actioning correspondence / clinical letters
  • Reviewing and actioning test results
  • Prescribing in accordance with patient needs, adhering to guidance
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with good practice
  • Reports and medicals
  • Contribute to achieving QOF / Enhanced Services targets

About us:

Allendale Road Surgery is a friendly and supportive teaching practice, well organised and high-performing GMS practice. We are an active member of NGP PCN under North West London ICB. We are patient focused and committed to delivering excellent care to all our registered patients. You will be joining a high QoF achieving practice, CQC rated 'Good', using SystmOne clinical system, with a mix of telephone, face-to-face and eConsult appointments. On-site car and bicycle parking is available, along with supportive practice meetings, clinical meetings, and MDT meetings. We are a teaching practice with medical students and have a demographically diverse patient list, working closely with allied health professionals within the practice such as clinical pharmacists, mental health practitioners, first care physiotherapists, and social prescribers. Minimal home visiting is required.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to our patients
  • Conduct face to face, telephone, and online consultations
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions in line with national and local guidelines
  • Undertake home visits
  • Participate in care planning and health promotion for patients with long term conditions
  • Issue prescriptions appropriately in accordance with practice and NHS policy
  • Review test results, hospital letters and correspondence promptly
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical record keeping using SystmOne clinical system

Quality & Governance:

  • Contribute to the achievement of QoF, Enhanced Services, and other clinical targets
  • Participate in clinical audits, significant event analysis, and learning reviews
  • Promote evidence-based practice and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of Safeguarding responsibilities for both adults & children
  • Adhere to all relevant practice and NHS policies including infection control, confidentiality and information governance

Professional Development:

  • Engage in appraisals and revalidation as required by the GMC and NHS England
  • Maintain continued professional development (CPD) and attend mandatory training sessions
  • Support teaching and mentoring or supervision of medical students

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with our multi-skilled team including Nurses, HCAs, Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians, First contact physios, social prescribers, Advanced nurse practitioners and administrative staff
  • Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions, and multi-disciplinary team (MDT) reviews
  • Support colleagues during absence and contribute to a positive, supportive team culture

Leadership and Service Development:

  • Contribute to the development of new services and innovations in primary care delivery
  • Engage with the local PCN to support integrated care models
  • Provide leadership for specific clinical areas or lead roles as agreed with the Practice Manager and Partners

Person Specification:

  • GMC registered GP with inclusion on the National Performers List
  • Committed to high quality patient centred care
  • Enjoys teamwork and collaborative working across disciplines
  • Previous experience of working in a GP Surgery
