The Athletic Facilitator will support the Athletic Director in coordinating, organizing, and facilitating a variety of athletic activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our 6th-8th grade student population. Primary responsibilities will be event supervision for a variety of athletic events and oversight of the middle school athletic department.

Qualifications:

  • Current knowledge of sport rules
  • Ability to relate to and teach teenage students
  • Evidence of successful coaching experience
  • Evidence of expertise in teaching the fundamentals of individual skills and team play
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Teacher certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Event supervision at APS 6th-8th grade athletic events
  • Support all 6th-8th grade sport programs, camps, clinics, leagues, and events, including organization of gym space
  • Implement, coordinate, and support sustainable district and building level systems to promote academic and behavioral needs of 6th-8th grade students
  • Work collaboratively with the Athletic Director to ensure alignment of athletic programs and department vision, with a focus on 6th-8th grade athletics
  • Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Supervisor and Transportation Supervisor to coordinate facility and field preparations and busing for 6th-8th grade teams
  • Help Athletic Director to evaluate all middle school/youth athletic programming and lead growth and improvement of these programs
  • Create materials to publicise athletic and sporting events, both in printed and electronic formats, for the purpose of disseminating information and fostering enhanced awareness among students, staff, and the community in recognising and supporting the school's athletic programs and attending events
  • Track participation data (prospects) and academic performance data (achievement) in collaboration with teachers, coaches, and administrators
  • Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function for all staff positions
  • All other duties as assigned

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
