An established UK engineering consultancy specialising in land development and infrastructure is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join its growing team. This role sits firmly in delivery, with scope to influence design strategy and support the development of junior engineers.
You will be responsible for producing and coordinating infrastructure designs across a range of development projects, ensuring outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards. The role involves contributing to engineering strategies, supporting project management activities, and liaising with clients, approving authorities, and internal stakeholders.
A key part of the position is preparing designs for adoptable works and supporting negotiations for technical approvals under S104, S38 and S278 agreements. You will ensure that all designs comply with current codes of practice, health and safety requirements, and internal quality procedures. You will also assist with fee awareness, project cost control, and the production of technical reports.
The role requires solid experience in highway design and ground modelling, drainage and hydraulic modelling including sustainable drainage systems, and general infrastructure design for development-led schemes. You should be comfortable working with AutoCAD, PDS or XPSite3D or similar software, MicroDrainage, WinDes or equivalent hydraulic modelling tools, and standard Microsoft packages.
Applicants will typically have five or more years' experience in a UK consultancy environment and be educated to degree or HNC level in civil engineering or a related discipline. You should be confident working with a reasonable level of autonomy, while also supporting and mentoring less experienced engineers.
The employer offers a competitive salary.
