An ambitious, forward-thinking waste management company striving to become the UK's leading provider in the sector are seeking a Site Foreman. Every member of the team contributes to achieving operational excellence and environmental responsibility.
Role Overview
The Site Foreman will oversee all yard operations, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety standards, environmental permits, and company procedures. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily site operations, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental Permit requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and enforce high housekeeping standards.
- Manage and motivate a team of operators, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and efficiently.
- Oversee correct waste segregation, storage, and labelling in line with legislation and company procedures.
- Operate and supervise the use of forklifts and mobile plant equipment, ensuring safe and compliant handling.
- Monitor waste documentation, stock levels, and dispatch schedules to maintain operational flow.
- Support Chemists/Waste Checkers with waste batching, repackaging, and compatibility checks.
- Ensure outgoing waste loads are safely prepared and compliant with ADR transport regulations.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by identifying and reporting near misses and potential risks.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven supervisory experience within the hazardous waste or warehousing sector.
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence and experience in high-risk environments.
- Strong knowledge of waste legislation, Health & Safety, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.
