Allen & York are thrilled to be working with a leading global provider of consulting and engineering services. Our client is looking for a confident, enthusiastic Chartered Senior Hydrogeologist to join the established groundwater business which operates nationally across the UK and Ireland.
The successful candidate will focus on the technical delivery, management, growth and development of the groundwater services as the team grows and develops. You'll hold a degree in earth sciences, geology or geochemistry, together with a master's degree or doctorate in hydrogeology.
With extensive experience in a hydrogeological role, you'll be skilled in:
- Designing and procuring groundwater abstraction investigations
- Desk-based analysis
- Using pumping test analysis software such as Aquifer Win32 and Aquitest
You’ll be proficient in preparing interpretative reports in support of abstraction licence applications for new individual private and public supplies as well as licences for new well fields. An excellent communicator, you’ll enjoy working collaboratively as part of a large multidisciplinary team, as well as being willing to work individually.
You will have the opportunity to work on hydrogeological projects across Great Britain and Ireland as well as internationally, so will need to be happy to travel from home for short periods. You will require a full, clean UK driving licence for this role. The ability to use groundwater modelling packages, such as MODFLOW and an understanding of water chemistry would be advantageous to this role.
