A leading global organisation is looking to hire a Principal Toxicologist. This is a great opportunity to lead and grow a Toxicology division with this organisation. You would be expected to evaluate claims of human health effects associated with exposure to chemicals, microbial agents (mold) or other toxicants in consumer products, pharmaceuticals, and in various conditions, including the workplace, home or the environment.
Performs chemical risk assessments of materials and chemicals found in industrial and commercial facilities and other environments. The ability to evaluate foodborne and infectious disease outbreaks, as well as health impact assessments, is desirable. This role will entail taking on and leading your practice with daily interactions and communications with the clients, leadership, and other consultants. Collaboration across the team, as well as within the company, to identify new opportunities is a critical skill.
Ideally they require a self-motivated individual with exceptional organisational skills and multitasking abilities. You will contribute to the business development of the team, communicate effectively with clients from the beginning to the end of the project, prepare and provide testimony in a legal or legislative environment, and manage time effectively. Past testimony experience is required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Conduct chemical and product evaluations to determine potential exposure levels and health risks in a variety of toxicology-related projects
- Convey those findings to the clients in a meaningful way to address the question at hand
- Exceptional writing skills for the scientific, legal, and lay audience
- Capturing and managing casework
- Effectively and efficiently managing caseload
- Communication with leadership and colleagues
- Budget development and transmittal
- Proves litigation, scientific liaison, and regulatory toxicology support to clients as necessary
- Exceptional knowledge of mechanistic and/or forensic toxicology
- Must demonstrate publication record
- Prior experience demonstrating a strong understanding of the application of toxicological principles to diverse exposure scenarios is required
- Degree required β Ph.D./M.S. degree or international equivalent and above
- Experience β 10 or more years or more direct experience in the industry, which can be in consulting, manufacturing, consumer product, regulatory, environmental, forensic, cosmetic, or any other toxicology role
- Testimony experience
- Demonstrate the ability to market across the EU
- Exceptional communication skills
- Business development skills including public speaking and in-person meetings
- Understand, apply and articulate fundamental toxicological principles
- Ability and desire to take on and learn new toxicological concepts
- Work collaboratively with the team
- Able to meet deadlines put forth by the client and manager
- Able to work independently and remotely within agreed-upon work hours (weekend work may be periodically required)
- Demonstrated proficiency using online interaction/meeting tools such as Zoom and Teams is required
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Experience in budget management
- Able to work well under and meet required deadlines
