About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Solar Field Operations Manager to play a key role in driving the growth of AES's Renewables Business. This is a hands-on leadership position, responsible for overseeing and developing high-performing teams delivering domestic solar, battery storage, and EV charger installations. You'll be joining a dynamic management team, ensuring operational excellence, technical quality, and outstanding customer delivery across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations for domestic Solar, Battery & EV Charger installations
  • Lead, manage, and support installation teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard
  • Ensure full compliance with industry regulations including MCS and NICEIC standards
  • Maintain strong knowledge of grid connection requirements (G98 / G99)
  • Conduct site audits, quality inspections, and performance reviews
  • Coordinate scheduling, materials, logistics, and subcontractors
  • Provide technical support and problem-solving on complex installations
  • Ensure all work complies with current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
  • Build strong relationships with customers, maintaining high levels of satisfaction

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience managing domestic solar and battery storage installations
  • Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
  • Strong knowledge of PV systems, battery storage, and inverter technologies
  • Experience in testing, commissioning, and fault finding
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Experience scaling installation teams
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. SSSTS)
  • Experience with DNO applications and grid connection processes
