Allen & York are looking for a contract Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) professional responsible for leading and assuring SHE performance across the full lifecycle of the renewable project, covering construction, commissioning, operations and downstream installations. Acting as the site safety champion and primary HSE interface with regulators, stakeholders and contractors, the role ensures full compliance with CDM, procedures and hydrogen-specific safety requirements.
The position leads inspections, audits and incident investigations, manages Velocity inspections and KPIs, and drives timely close-out of findings and continuous improvement. It supports operational readiness through risk assessments, work instruction reviews, permit and control-of-work processes, and implementation of site-specific SHE systems, emergency response plans and functional safety management.
The role also provides specialist assurance across midstream and downstream activities, including Line of Defence 3 auditing of installations, contractor standards alignment, RAMS reviews, and tooling and equipment approval. A strong focus is placed on occupational health, training, public safety engagement, and fostering a proactive, learning-led safety culture throughout the project and supply chain.
This role is working on a day rate inside IR35 and is based in Scotland.
