An exciting opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to join a leading international manufacturing organisation at its Grimsby site. This is a key role within the SHE team, supporting environmental compliance, sustainability and continuous improvement across a complex industrial operation.
The successful candidate will provide environmental expertise, working independently and collaboratively to ensure high standards of compliance, risk management and environmental performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Maintain environmental procedures, documentation and guidance
- Monitor compliance and key environmental and HSE parameters
- Support environmental inspections, audits, risk assessments and investigations
- Liaise with environmental regulatory bodies and certification organisations
- Lead and coordinate external ISO accreditation audits
- Analyse environmental data and produce reports and records
- Identify training requirements and deliver environmental awareness training
- Provide advice, coaching and support to colleagues
- Ensure inspection recommendations and corrective actions are implemented
- Contribute to environmental budgeting and improvement initiatives
- Deputise for the SHE Lead when required
About you:
- Science-based qualification, preferably with an environmental focus
- Experience working within an Environmental Management System
- Experience dealing with the Environment Agency
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations
- Understanding of UK ETS and Waste Regulations
- Some knowledge of NORM would be advantageous
- Strong communication, influencing and coaching skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office capabilities
- A proactive approach and ambition to develop professionally
