A well-established and growing organisation within the organics recycling and resource recovery sector is seeking a Site Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of one of its processing facilities. This is a confidential appointment and offers the opportunity to play a key role in delivering high standards of operational performance, environmental compliance and product quality within a busy composting operation.
Reporting to senior management, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the site, ensuring compost production processes operate efficiently while maintaining strict environmental and health & safety standards. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining operational oversight with team supervision and quality management.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Overseeing composting operations
- Monitoring critical process parameters such as temperature, moisture and aeration
- Ensuring correct waste segregation and material handling
- Maintaining operational supplies
- Managing environmental controls across the facility, including odour management, leachate control and general site inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Maintaining product quality, inspecting incoming organic materials, monitoring compost maturity and ensuring finished product meets recognised industry standards
You will ideally have experience within composting, waste management, organics processing or a related environmental sector, together with a working understanding of compost quality standards such as PAS100. Flexibility around working hours and occasional travel to other company locations may also be required. Relevant health and safety and industry qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH, together with WAMITAB or COTC, would be highly desirable.
