Our client is an established UK organisation in the construction and building materials sector, is seeking a Group Health & Safety Advisor to join its Group SHE team. Reporting to the Group Head of Health & Safety, this role plays a key part in delivering the company’s health and safety strategy, supporting multiple business units, and driving a positive culture of continuous improvement towards Zero Harm.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced H&S practitioner to influence at group level, working with business leaders, site managers, and external bodies to ensure the highest standards of health and safety are achieved and maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on health and safety matters across the Group.
- Monitor and interpret legislative changes, updating policies, procedures, and guidance accordingly.
- Lead and support audits, site visits, investigations, and improvement projects.
- Manage and analyse health and safety data using proprietary software, producing accurate reports for leadership teams and external stakeholders.
- Deliver training, coaching, and specialist advice to drive behavioural and cultural change.
- Represent the Group at SHE strategy meetings, industry forums, and external audits.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive professional who is passionate about creating safe working environments and influencing positive culture change. You will need to be a confident communicator, comfortable working with people at all levels, and capable of balancing multiple priorities.
Essential requirements
- NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
- At least 3 years’ experience in a health and safety role.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and influencing skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
- Auditing qualification.
- Membership of IOSH (or similar professional body).
- Experience within construction, aggregates, or related industries.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
