Are you a detail-driven Project Accountant who thrives at the intersection of finance, project delivery, and operational excellence? An established international environmental consultancy is looking for a proactive finance professional to play a key role in strengthening project financial management across their growing business.
In this role, you will work closely with project managers and senior leadership, providing accurate financial insights, enhancing reporting capability, and ensuring robust controls are consistently applied. You will take ownership of key processes across budgeting, forecasting, job costing, cash flow management, and system optimisation, becoming the go-to super user for the ERP job costing module.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Driving the development and automation of monthly financial and project reports
- Managing Work-in-Hand reporting and supporting budgeting & cost-control processes
- Authorising project purchase orders and ensuring procurement compliance
- Implementing and improving subcontractor and cash-payment procedures
- Maintaining project costing tools and templates for pricing and tenders
- Monitoring project risks and highlighting variances to senior finance leaders
- Leading monthly project write-off reviews and supporting internal audits
- Partnering with project managers to maintain accurate, up-to-date financial data
What We Are Looking For:
- 10+ years' experience in project accounting, cost control, or quantity surveying
- Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, and project management capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central and BI tools (advantageous)
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
