Location: Manchester (Hybrid)

Are you ready to lead and shape ESG in a business that’s growing fast and investing heavily in sustainable practices? We’re working with a leading UK Build-to-Rent developer, backed by significant private equity funding, to hire their first dedicated ESG Manager, a unique opportunity to create and embed a sustainability strategy at the heart of a high-impact property company.
This isn’t just another ESG reporting role. You’ll take full ownership of Placefirst’s ESG agenda, crafting strategy, managing investor-driven compliance (including GRESB and Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions), and building the policies and frameworks that will define the company’s environmental and social impact.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and deliver a comprehensive ESG strategy from scratch
- Lead emissions and carbon footprint initiatives, including Scope 1, 2 & 3
- Translate investor expectations into actionable plans
- Own GRESB reporting and sustainability data across the business
- Collaborate with senior leaders and project teams to embed ESG into every level of the company
- Track, measure, and improve environmental performance across retrofit and new build projects
- Position Placefirst as a sustainability leader in the residential property space
Who You Are:
- You’ve got solid experience in carbon reporting, emissions analysis, or chemical/environmental compliance
- You’re now ready to evolve into a broader ESG leadership role
- You know your way around frameworks like SBTi, ISO14001, or the UN SDGs
