We are supporting the search for an experienced Environmental & Social Manager to join a dynamic consultancy working on turnkey infrastructure and sustainability initiatives across agriculture, rural development, and the full water cycle. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering projects in diverse regions, particularly in West Africa. The role involves guiding environmental strategy, ensuring compliance with international sustainability standards, and managing stakeholder engagement across complex, multi-phase infrastructure programmes.

As Environmental & Social Manager, you will lead the development of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs) and Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs) aligned with global benchmarks including the IFC Performance Standards, World Bank Environmental and Social Standards (ESS), and the Equator Principles. Your expertise will support decision-making across project lifecycles—from design and financing through to implementation and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide environmental advisory services across international infrastructure projects
  • Prepare and review ESIAs, ESMPs, risk assessments, and related documentation
  • Liaise with financial institutions, export credit agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor compliance with environmental and social safeguards, including subcontractor oversight
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to support environmental and social performance
  • Produce high-quality technical reports and mitigation strategies

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience in environmental or sustainability consultancy
  • Proven experience working with multilateral institutions, ECAs, or similar funding bodies
  • Familiarity with IFC, World Bank, OECD, and Equator Principles standards
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Fluency in Spanish is essential; French is highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel internationally as required
