A leading global environmental consultancy is looking to appoint an Environmental or Ecological Clerk of Works (EnvCoW/ECoW) to support a growing pipeline of major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Scotland. This is a hands‑on, site‑focused role suited to someone who enjoys being out in the field, working across diverse locations, and playing a key role in ensuring environmental compliance on complex projects.
The Role
You’ll provide on-site environmental oversight across a range of high‑profile developments, ensuring works are delivered in line with environmental commitments, legislation, and best practice. Acting as a trusted advisor to contractors and project teams, you’ll help identify risks early and keep projects running smoothly and responsibly.
What We’re Looking For
- Degree (or equivalent) in an environmental discipline such as ecology, environmental science, or environmental management
- Demonstrable experience working on large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects, ideally within renewables
- Strong knowledge of Scottish and UK environmental legislation, permitting, and consenting processes
- Confidence in delivering site‑based monitoring, audits, and practical environmental advice
- Comfortable working across multiple sites, including travel to remote and rural locations
