A growing environmental consultancy is expanding its ecology and environmental management team and is seeking a confident, organised, and ambitious Associate Project Manager to help deliver a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK and Ireland.

This is a hands-on role with real variety: part project leadership, part client interface, part field coordination — ideal for someone ready to step up into a more senior delivery position within a fast-moving environmental practice.

The Role

You’ll work closely with senior project leadership to manage ecological and environmental projects from inception through to delivery, ensuring quality, efficiency, and strong client relationships throughout. Expect a balance of office-based coordination, team leadership, and occasional field engagement across varied sites in the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a main point of contact for assigned clients and manage ongoing project relationships.
  • Coordinate and oversee ecological field teams and survey programmes.
  • Manage project workflows, scheduling, and multi-disciplinary delivery.
  • Support budget tracking, commercial oversight, and cost-effective project execution.
  • Review and contribute to technical reporting outputs.
  • Assist in preparing bids and tenders, ensuring quality and competitiveness.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, encouraging best practice and development.
  • Identify improvements in project delivery, efficiency, and innovation.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.

About You

  • Degree-level qualification in environmental science, ecology, project management, or related field.
  • Experience in consultancy-based project management (environmental/ecology preferred).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with confident report writing.
  • Comfortable managing workloads, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising staff is highly desirable.
  • Professional membership (or working towards it) advantageous.
  • Full UK/Ireland driving licence and willingness to travel.

What’s on Offer

  • Salary: £27,000 – £40,000 DOE.
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing organisation.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • 25–29 days annual leave + public holidays.
  • Annual performance bonus schemes.
  • Private health insurance.
  • Paid professional memberships training support.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Company vehicle access + free/subsidised travel options.
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Enhanced family sick leave policies.
  • Free on-site parking.

Why This Role?

This is a chance to step into a role where project delivery meets environmental impact — helping shape how ecological work is delivered across major UK and Ireland projects, while developing into a key figure within a growing team.
