Are you a dedicated and chartered Ecologist with experience managing projects and inspiring more junior team members to develop within a multi‐disciplinary consultancy? Looking for a new challenge to manage a diverse portfolio of multiple projects? This could be for you!

The position will be varied and duties include:

  • Leading a varied portfolio of interesting and complex ecological projects from initial client liaison through to completion.
  • Mentoring and managing enthusiastic ecologists by adopting a creative and inspiring approach.
  • Contributing to business development activities including building client relationships and writing fee proposals to help expand our current portfolio.
  • Project and people management to ensure effective delivery of reports.
  • Being the lead author on a range of reports including EcIAs, ES Chapters and Habitat Regulations Assessments.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience as an Ecologist in a consultancy environment.
  • Full member of CIEEM, preferably a Chartered Ecologist or Chartered Environmentalist.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK and EC wildlife legislation and policy.
  • Excellent knowledge of EIA and the planning process.
  • Proven experience of writing technical reports and delivery of EPSM licence documents; EcIA; ES Chapters Habitat Regulations Assessments and BREEAM Assessments.
  • Named ecologist on EPSM licences – Bats / Great Crested Newts as a minimum.
  • Staff mentoring experience.
