We are seeking a proactive and strategic Manager of Environmental & Mining Hydrogeology to lead a specialist team in delivering cutting-edge hydrogeological services across international mining and resource projects.

This position plays a key role in overseeing technical delivery, growing the groundwater services portfolio, and mentoring a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate combines strong scientific expertise with a commercial mindset and a passion for excellence in environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of hydrogeological investigations, including hydrocensus data collection, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring, and dewatering assessments.
  • Interpret complex datasets to develop conceptual and numerical groundwater flow and quality models that inform decision-making and meet both regulatory and client standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional environmental teams and ensure integrated project delivery aligned with global best practice.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for clients and stakeholders, providing strategic input into water management plans, permitting processes, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee and contribute to technical reporting for clients and regulatory authorities.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities, from initial leads through to proposal submission and key account management.
  • Develop and execute a departmental business plan that aligns with organisational objectives and market demand.
  • Manage team performance, recruitment, onboarding, and professional development.
  • Ensure effective resource planning, financial oversight, and delivery against revenue targets.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Advanced qualifications in Hydrogeology, Environmental Geoscience, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience delivering groundwater consulting services in the mining or resources sectors.
  • Strong technical capabilities in groundwater modelling, monitoring, and impact assessment.
  • An understanding of international environmental regulations, permitting, and industry standards.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and fostering technical excellence.
  • Skilled communicator with a client-centric approach and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel regionally and internationally for project work and client engagement.
