Are you an experienced environmental professional looking to work on some of the world's most complex infrastructure projects? We're working with a globally recognised multidisciplinary consultancy seeking a Senior Environmental Specialist to join its established London-based team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure, transport, urban development and planning projects across the UK, Middle East and Africa.

The Opportunity

You'll lead and contribute to Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), EIA, ESMS and strategic environmental projects, working alongside technical specialists and project managers on high-profile international developments. This role offers a blend of technical leadership, project management, client engagement and business development, with opportunities for international travel and exposure to globally significant projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental and social assessment workstreams on major infrastructure projects
  • Deliver ESIA, EIA, ESMS and related environmental studies
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and specialist consultants
  • Support client engagement, proposal development and business growth activities
  • Mentor junior consultants and contribute to team development
  • Travel internationally as required to support project delivery

About You

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in ESIA/EIA consulting
  • Strong report writing and project delivery skills
  • Experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment
  • Knowledge of international environmental and social safeguard standards (IFC, World Bank, EBRD, AfDB or similar)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A degree (and ideally postgraduate qualification) in an environmental, ecological or related discipline

Highly Desirable

  • Ecological impact assessment expertise
  • International project experience, particularly across Africa or the Middle East
  • Understanding of UK EIA legislation and planning processes
  • Professional membership (IEMA, CIEEM, CIWEM, IES or equivalent)
  • Additional language skills such as Portuguese, French or Spanish
