This is a part-time role of 22.5 hours per week. Allen & York are supporting a charity in appointing a new role to deliver a strong Health & Safety Management system across the business which operates across the south of England from their HQ in Hampshire. The organisation provides critical support for families, children and young adults offering care where this charity's essential work makes it possible. The role reports to the Head of People and will ensure the charity has a robust Health and Safety system in place to provide continuous improvement, ensure compliance with legislation, and address issues to rectify as appropriate. The charity works across multiple facilities including the Head Office, hospice care sites and other facilities. This role will assess and identify hazards and risks and provide recommendations as necessary. The role will act as the in-house expert for the charity and work closely with key stakeholders to provide expert advice and build a safety culture, maintaining accurate records of training, inspections and incidents.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify hazards and risks across facilities and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust Health & Safety system to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide expert advice to key stakeholders and contribute to building a safety culture across the organisation.
  • Maintain accurate records of training, inspections and incidents.
  • Support the Head of People in promoting health and safety best practices across the business.

Qualifications

  • Background in property or facilities management, ideally within a charitable or retail setting.
  • Demonstrable track record of Health and Safety management or advisory experience.

This role is offered on a part-time basis with flexibility across 3 days per week or more to suit candidates’ life balance. The role would suit parents returning to work and can fit in with school pick-up or self-employed professionals wishing to maintain regular work.
