A leading renewable energy operator is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Manager to lead and enhance the company's HSE management systems across its food waste anaerobic digestion (AD) operations. This hands-on leadership role requires close collaboration with site teams to embed a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive sustainable environmental performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of SHEQ Advisors across multiple sites, providing direction, coaching, and development to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of HSE standards.
- Manage ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance, conduct risk assessments and audits, lead incident investigations, deliver health and safety training, and foster continuous improvement across safety, environmental, and operational performance.
Qualifications:
- Hold a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety and/or an Environmental Management qualification.
- Significant leadership experience in HSE or SHEQ within anaerobic digestion, biogas, renewable energy, utilities, or process industries.
- Strong knowledge of UK HSE and environmental legislation, including COMAH, Environmental Permitting Regulations, and the Health and Safety at Work Act.
- Proven experience managing and developing HSE professionals and delivering ISO-compliant management systems.
- Exceptional communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
