Allen & York is delighted to be working exclusively with Placefirst as they embark on their search for an ESG Manager to join their Manchester office and work with the Head of Business Intelligence to develop and implement a sustainability strategy for the business. Placefirst are one of the largest Buy to Rent developers in the UK. Established in 2010, they are backed by Matter Real Estate and have received significant investment and expertise.
As part of this, the need for an experienced ESG Manager to develop and deliver their ESG strategy has been identified in order to help them achieve their ambitious growth plans. The majority of their properties are based in the Northwest but their portfolio is expanding down to the Midlands.
To be considered for the position, you will have developed and implemented an ESG strategy previously and possess strong stakeholder engagement skills as you will be leading on sustainability programmes and projects including carbon neutrality, waste and energy reduction. You will work across various departments and report to the investors, so sound communication skills are also required, both verbal and written.
In addition, exposure to GRESB benchmark will be advantageous as you will be responsible for leading the submission, but if not this, then other similar reporting frameworks such as SBTi and ISO14001. You will also be responsible for delivering social value, so experience across environment, social and governance will be beneficial and if not, a willingness to learn quickly.
You will be a self-starter, self-motivated and driven, able to work to a range of KPIs to develop, track and report various sustainability metrics, ultimately ensuring compliance and driving improvements across the business.
If you have experience of working in the real estate or construction sector, and have experience of GRESB, that would be advantageous but candidates from a similar industry are invited to apply. With offices in Salford, you will be required to attend the office three days a week, so you will be based close to Manchester and on occasion, you may be required to travel to the London office, so a willingness to do this is important.
If you hold the relevant skills and experience and would like to join a progressive, growing business who have ambitious plans to expand their operations and become the leading BTR developers in the UK, contact Thomas on tjherbert@allen-york.com to find out more.
