Our client is seeking a Sustainability & Compliance lead to manage certification, audit, and regulatory compliance across Food Waste Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities. In this pivotal role, you'll ensure full organisational compliance with ISCC, RHI (or successor schemes), and ISO standards such as ISO 9001, 14001, and 50001. You'll maintain accurate sustainability data, manage internal and external audits, and implement corrective actions to uphold best‑in‑class environmental and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ISCC certification, RHI compliance and maintain audit‑ready systems, documentation, and mass balance records.
  • Coordinate audits with regulatory bodies such as Ofgem and ISCC, including pre‑audit preparation, site visits, corrective actions, and supplier assessments.
  • Monitor and report sustainability metrics, including GHG emissions, carbon intensity, ESG data, and renewable energy outputs.
  • Support operational teams on sustainable feedstock sourcing, carbon reduction strategies and process optimisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure data integrity through robust reporting systems and controls.
  • Deliver staff training and promote a strong culture of sustainability and health & safety.

About You

You'll hold a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Renewable Energy or similar, with experience in the AD, biogas, renewable energy or waste sectors. You'll bring strong knowledge of ISCC, RED II, RHI and ISO standards, excellent data analysis skills, and confidence managing multiple audits and stakeholders. Highly organised and proactive, you'll be a natural communicator who can translate regulatory requirements into clear, practical actions.
