We're looking for an exceptional Director of Environmental Consultancy to lead and grow an Environmental Consultancy and Solutions by Nature business. This is a career‑defining opportunity to shape strategy, drive commercial success, and deliver innovative, nature‑based solutions across the water and critical infrastructure sectors, all while making a meaningful environmental impact.

The Role

As a key senior leader, you will take full ownership of strategy, performance, and delivery, with P&L responsibility across the business. You’ll lead multidisciplinary teams, strengthen client relationships, and position our environmental services at the forefront of the industry, advancing nature‑based solutions, environmental net gain and integrated consultancy services.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leadership & Culture
    • Inspire and lead high‑performing teams, promoting a culture of safety, inclusion and excellence
    • Develop and mentor senior leaders and technical specialists
    • Build capability, succession and long‑term talent strength
  • Business & Financial Leadership
    • Own full P&L responsibility, driving performance and sustainable growth
    • Lead financial planning, forecasting and resource strategy
    • Ensure operational efficiency and strong commercial outcomes
  • Strategy, Growth & Clients
    • Define and deliver growth strategies across environmental consultancy and nature‑based solutions
    • Build and maintain senior client relationships
    • Lead on major bids, frameworks and new service development
  • Delivery Excellence
    • Ensure safe, high‑quality and commercially robust project delivery
    • Oversee governance, risk management and performance improvement
    • Collaborate across Binnies and the wider RSK Group to deliver integrated solutions

  • Experience leading multi‑disciplinary environmental services and programmes
  • A confident communicator who builds trusted client relationships
  • Resilient, solutions‑focused and decisive in complex environments
  • Degree‑qualified in a relevant discipline and Chartered status (or equivalent)
