Allen & York are working with a confidential client to appoint a HSEQ Director based Southeast of London. The company is part of a global organisation, and this site plays a critical role in the global functioning of the business.

The role has significant responsibility in developing the culture and strategy of the site, ensuring that the organisation is consistently improving by providing support and rational solutions to issues in a complex environment.

Key to success in this role will be the ability to build strong relationships at senior management level but also across the business, influencing change where necessary, enabling ownership and buy-in to improve safety.

Candidates will need a pragmatic approach, strong leadership, good people development skills for succession planning, and the ability to challenge and inspire others. You should have significant experience working in a complex sector such as heavy manufacturing, industrial chemicals, engineering, or construction, delivering change and being adaptive in a demanding environment.

It is expected that candidates will have a high level of education, be CMIOSH, and have experience working at Director level or equivalent in a high-profile role.
