Our client, a leading engineering design consultancy, is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to be based in the Northampton area. The Electrical Design Engineer role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team, working on the design and development of cutting-edge heavy lifting equipment.
Role Description
As the Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical and control systems for heavy lifting equipment. This will involve creating detailed electrical and control system specifications, including hardware and software selection, as well as producing electrical circuit diagrams and schematics. Ensuring compliance with relevant electrical design and safety standards, European directives, and legislation will also be a key part of the role.
Must Have Skills
- Bachelor\’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing and building electrical systems
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, codes, and standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
