Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an Identity & Access Management Manager at the A&O Shearman Belfast office. This role leads the operational delivery of the firm’s Identity and Access Management (IAM) function, covering access management aspects.
The firm prioritizes data security, which is integral to its reputation as a trustworthy professional services provider. Information security is central to all operations, supported by the Board.
The in-house Information Security team, led by the new CISO, aligns with frameworks like NIST, ISO27001, and SOC2, and adapts to evolving cyber threats. The team benefits from experience advising on numerous incidents, providing valuable insights into cyber risk management.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting strategy for IAM governance, establishing objectives, guidelines, and aligning with firm goals.
- Leading a team of IAM Managers and Analysts, fostering a collaborative culture.
- Developing and maintaining IAM processes, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Overseeing daily IAM operations, including privileged access management and certification processes.
- Collaborating with architects and engineers to implement automation and self-service features.
- Ensuring audit readiness and supporting internal and external audits.
- Managing and coaching the IAM team, delegating tasks effectively.
Qualifications and experience:
- Extensive IT or information security experience, with leadership in IAM roles.
- Professional certifications like CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
- Proven leadership managing IAM teams in complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with IAM tools like Microsoft Entra ID, CyberArk.
- Deep understanding of IAM principles, controls, and governance.
- Knowledge of risk management standards such as ISO 27001, NIST.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
- Experience in professional services or legal sectors.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and cloud IAM solutions.
