We are recruiting a BD Manager to join the London office supporting the Litigation and Investigations group.

Department purpose: Our Marketing, Business Development and Communications (MBD&C) team contributes to the firm's business objectives, supporting lawyers in client relationship building, winning new clients, increasing visibility, and positioning the firm as a thought leader globally. The team collaborates across offices and practice groups worldwide.

Role purpose: The Business Development Manager will support the London Litigation and Investigations (L&I) group, reporting to the Senior BD Manager. Responsibilities include supporting pitches, events, directories, campaigns, thought leadership, and profile-raising activities internally and externally. This role offers an opportunity to work with a global practice focused on integration, collaboration, and cross-selling. L&I is the largest of A&O Shearman’s Disputes practice groups, encompassing various specialisms. The successful candidate will help achieve the group’s goals and contribute to the wider disputes business development team.

Key tasks include:

  • Working with partners and the BD team to execute marketing and BD plans.
  • Managing client relationships.
  • Overseeing directory submissions.
  • Identifying business opportunities.
  • Supporting internal and external profile-raising initiatives.
