Rate: £55 per hour (Inside IR35)
Contract: 8 - 12 weeks, with strong potential for extension or longer-term engagement.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Litigation Lawyer to join a well-regarded local authority on a locum basis. This role would suit a qualified lawyer with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE who is able to manage a varied caseload and work effectively within a busy team environment.
The Role
You will undertake a broad range of civil litigation work, including both contentious and non-contentious matters across:
- Landlord and Tenant (commercial and residential)
- Housing Law and Homelessness
- Judicial Review proceedings
- Debt recovery, including Adult Social Care debt
Key Requirements
- Experience handling rent disputes across commercial and residential leasehold matters
- Strong background in contested debt and general landlord and tenant work
- Proven experience managing litigated cases on both the claimant and defendant side
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload with minimal supervision
Working Arrangements
The role offers a flexible, hybrid working model with the majority of work undertaken remotely. Attendance will be required for court hearings and key meetings where necessary. The team promotes a positive working culture with a strong emphasis on maintaining a healthy work-life balance.
