Allen Lane are partnering with a London borough council on their recruitment for an interim Head of Legal services/Deputy Monitoring Officer. This Head of Legal must have planning experience.

  • Draft, negotiate and complete s106, s38, s278 agreements and any other agreement and licences relating to planning and highways matters.
  • Advise on all matters relating to planning and highways matters.
  • Lead, manage and supervise a team of contract lawyers, planning lawyers and property lawyers.
  • Positively contribute as a member of the Legal Services Management Team.
  • Conduct member training.
  • Attend and advise at planning committee and any other council committees, as necessary.
  • Deputise for the council's Monitoring Officer including attending high level meetings.
  • Progress the council's various corporate agendas.

There will be an expectation to be in the office 3 days per week but will reduce to 2 days per week. This is an initial 6-month contract and paying Β£800/day inside IR35.
