Our client is a respected public sector body which is seeking a proactive Financial Accountant to join a friendly, knowledgeable finance team working at the centre of a high‑profile environment.

This role offers the chance to contribute to the financial stewardship of £bs of investments, collaborating closely with internal colleagues, outsourced partners, HM Treasury and other key external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll play an important part in delivering statutory accounts for presentation to Parliament, ensuring full compliance with IFRS and the government’s financial reporting manual.
  • You’ll also provide assurance across a wide range of retail savings products, review complex financial information, and support the maintenance of effective financial controls.
  • The role includes involvement in treasury management activity and offers scope to influence improvements, support decision‑making and contribute to wider transformation initiatives.

Qualifications

You should be a fully qualified accountant with strong financial accounting experience.
