I am working with a Public Sector Organisation who are looking for a Director Real Estate Management. This will be an interim role for 6 months while a restructure takes place, with the possibility of a permanent position following the completion of the 6 months.
This senior leadership role is responsible for the full spectrum of estate, asset, and facilities management across a large and complex public sector property portfolio, comprising approximately 430 buildings and 780,000m² across Greater London. The role ensures compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and oversees key estate functions including acquisitions, disposals, valuations, landlord-tenant relations, and residential property management. It also manages outsourced facilities services and commercial contracts, while leading a multidisciplinary team and supplier network. The position plays a strategic role in shaping organisational structures, governance, and workplace design standards to support smarter, more efficient ways of working.
In this pivotal role, you will:
- Lead estate, asset, and facilities management across the MPS estate.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and regulatory standards.
- Manage outsourced FM services, PFI contracts, and a residential portfolio.
- Drive estate transformation and smarter working initiatives.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and lead a multidisciplinary team of 60+ staff and 200+ supplier personnel.
What we’re looking for:
- Chartered professional (RICS, CIOB, RIBA) with extensive leadership experience.
- Proven success managing large-scale estates and complex supply chains.
- Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience in workplace design and transformation is a plus.
- Experience within Local Government, Central Government, Blue Light Services, Charities or Higher Education.

Daily Rate: Circa £750
