The predicted salary is between 192000 - 198000 £ per year.

Contract length: 6 months initially

Rate: £800-£850 per day (Inside IR35)

Location: East Kilbride / Glasgow (hybrid, 2-3 days per week in the office)

Allen Lane is working with a high-profile central government organisation in their search for an Interim Chief of Staff. This is an urgent requirement to be located on a hybrid basis in their East Kilbride offices. A high-impact and rewarding role, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in complex, fast-moving environments and can bring structure, focus, and high standards to an ambitious organisation undergoing major transformation.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience for this position:

  • Experience in a senior operational, leadership-support or Chief of Staff role.
  • Strong understanding of IT service environments (ITIL/ITSM awareness useful).
  • Proven ability to run leadership cadence, governance and decision processes.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, concise papers.
  • Confidence engaging with senior civil servants and cross-government partners.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to hold people to account through influence rather than authority.
  • A collaborative, low-ego style that builds trust across teams.

Ideally, applicants will have experience in a UK government organisation or regulated environment. You may also have ITIL or programme/PMO-related qualifications. The successful applicant must be willing to obtain SC/DV clearance, however it is not a requirement for you to already hold this clearance level.
