Job Description
Our client - Central Government - is seeking the addition of an experienced VDI Engineer on an interim basis.
Key skills/experience:
- VMware Horizon end-to-end: Connection Servers, Unified Access Gateway (UAG), App Volumes, Dynamic Environment Manager (DEM), Instant Clones, Horizon Agents
- VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter - clusters, distributed switching, storage integration
- Strong Windows Server and Windows desktop platform experience
- Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI/Certificate Services and authentication technologies
- Advanced PowerShell Scripting/automation - identifying and building out automation opportunities across the platform
- 3rd/4th line troubleshooting on complex platform issues; incident, problem and root cause work
- Profile management, application virtualisation, desktop life cycle management
- Experience with platform upgrades, migrations and transformation projects
- Comfortable in hybrid on-prem/cloud environments; Agile/DevOps delivery experience a plus
The onsite working arrangement is hybrid - 3 days pw onsite, Scotland.
