We are partnering with a respected international non-profit organisation undergoing a significant period of organisational transformation.
This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished Director of Finance to join on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with a genuine possibility of transitioning into a permanent role for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will lead the finance function through a critical period of change, ensuring robust financial management, strong governance, and effective operational leadership across a global organisation.
The Role
Reporting into the Executive Leadership Team, you will take ownership of the finance function, providing both hands‑on operational support and strategic financial leadership.
Key responsibilities will include
- Leading the planning, delivery and implementation of the global operating budget.
- Strengthening budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management and financial reporting processes.
- Producing and presenting management accounts, forecasts and financial analysis to senior leadership, Board members and governance committees.
- Leading the month‑end close process and improving reporting timelines.
- Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow reporting and financial controls.
- Supporting finance systems improvements and implementation projects.
- Providing financial modelling and scenario planning to support organisational change initiatives.
- Leading grant finance activity, including donor compliance, cost allocation and financial business partnering.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory and taxation requirements across multiple international jurisdictions.
- Managing audits and maintaining a strong internal control environment.
- Leading and developing a geographically dispersed finance team.
About You
We're looking for a qualified finance professional who combines technical excellence with strong leadership capability.
You will have
- Full professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within an international and multi-funded organisation.
- Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
- Proven track record of improving financial controls, systems and processes.
- Experience leading finance teams through periods of transition and organisational change.
- Knowledge of grant-funded environments and donor compliance requirements.
- Experience managing audits and statutory reporting obligations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders and Board-level audiences.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, particularly across global or geographically dispersed teams.
