About the Company Allen the role will cover specification through to hardware testing, with a focus on high quality, re-usable coding, as well as effective verification, of various audio interfaces and custom DSP designs.

Responsibilities

  • Implement new FPGA designs, using a mixture of existing IP and newly created code, using VHDL primarily for Xilinx devices
  • Write code with a view to re-usability, readability, efficient resource utilisation, and high clock rate
  • Use modern simulation and verification techniques to create comprehensive testing/simulation environments using ModelSim
  • Create and validate timing constraints
  • Produce design documentation, as well as documents describing any software interfaces
  • Involvement in circuit design; schematic symbol generation, and interaction with the PCB layout process
  • Conduct PCB-level bring-up and debug of the FPGA
  • Research into cutting edge FPGA technology with a view to device selection and potential exploitation of said technologies in new designs

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent from an accredited course in Electronic Engineering or suitable experience in the field

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience Coded FPGA or ASIC designs in VHDL or Verilog
  • Experience in design, simulation / verification, synthesis, static timing analysis, verification and debugging
  • Candidate should show evidence of skills in cost effective design for a very competitive market.
  • The job will require a good knowledge, understanding and experience of most of the following:
    • High speed digital design - Logic, Timing, Signal Integrity etc
    • Embedded Microprocessor and Microcontroller design
    • Digital circuit components: DSP, FPGA, CPLD, Memory etc

Knowledge and experience of the following will be considered an advantage:

  • Programmable logic design tools
  • Knowledge of digital audio
  • C/C++ programming language, circuit design, OSVVM, SDC, TCL
  • Knowledge of audio mixing systems
