Our client is seeking a part-time Accounts Assistant to support the finance team by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of financial data and contributing to the smooth operation of the organisation's financial processes.
This position will involve, but will not be limited to:
- Lead month-end close activities, ensuring timely posting of accruals and prepayments and producing accurate financial results.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accounts are fully supported and audit-ready.
- Manage the purchase order approval process, working with budget holders to ensure accurate coding and financial control.
- Support sales ledger accuracy and credit control, assisting in debt collection, aged debt reporting, and account follow-ups.
- Provide accurate financial data for board reporting, including variance analysis and key metrics to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with the finance team and wider business, actively contributing to team outcomes and promoting company values.

This is a part-time role working 25 hours per week, ideally split over 5 days working 9:30 - 14:30, however, other options will be considered (minimum 4 days).
Essentials:
- Experience working in a finance or accounts team, ideally in a similar assistant or junior accounting role
- Practical knowledge of month-end processes including accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations.
- Ideally AAT qualified or working towards, with strong Excel skills
- A professional and proactive self-starter, who takes initiative
- Excellent attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively across multiple tasks.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of assigned responsibilities
- Able to demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks effectively, within a fast-paced and changing environment.
Based in South Oxfordshire, the company operates on a hybrid working basis, with office days being Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. There is ample free parking available onsite.
