Practice Manager Responsibilities

  • Managing all HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing employee development to support a team of approximately 80 staff members.
  • Handling patient correspondence, complaints, and service improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and experience.
  • Supporting payroll processing and ensuring compliance with employment law and NHS policies.
  • Contributing to the development of practice strategies alongside senior leadership, including the Operations Manager and Practice Manager.
  • Handling high-level communication with patients and external stakeholders to maintain standards of care and service.
  • Assisting with day-to-day operational issues and providing leadership within the practice.
  • Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in all HR and patient-facing activities.

Practice Manager Rewards

  • Salary between £30,000 and £37,500, depending on experience.

Practice Manager Experience Essentials

  • CIPD Level 3 or working towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and full employee lifecycle management.
  • Proven experience managing HR processes, payroll, and patient communication.
  • Experience within a GP practice and exposure to medical regulations is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling patient correspondence and complaints effectively.
  • Ability to contribute to practice strategy at a senior level.
  • Proficiency in digital health tools, ideally EMIS, and experience working within regulated healthcare environments.

Location

Based in Oxford, this full-time role offers a hybrid of on-site working and flexible arrangements, with easy access via public transport and parking facilities nearby. One site has parking whilst the other does not.
